10 Ways To Practice a Self Care Summer

1. Go outside - Whether you’re gardening, going on a hike, or even just relaxing outdoors with a fresh lemonade, spending time outside is key to self-care. Sunlight is a natural serotonin booster.


2. Make a summer playlist - Put together some of your favorite mood boosting music to motivate you throughout your day.

3. Start journaling - This is a great way to reflect, express yourself, and even learn more about who you are. Writing down your thoughts can be very therapeutic.

4. Go to your local farmers market - This is a great opportunity to eat healthier, support local vendors, and maybe even try some new produce!

5. Plan a getaway - Getting out of your daily scenery and experiencing a new place is a great way to unwind, boost your mood, and practice gratitude for the present.

6. Reflect, pray, or meditate - Take advantage of the summer sunrise or sunset for some spiritual thought.

7. Set a personal goal - Working towards a goal gives us an opportunity to focus on something that will be an investment in ourselves. It’s also a chance to be proud of ourselves when the goal is achieved and look forward to setting more goals.

8. Stay active - It may be tempting to stay in and binge watch your favorite shows all day but being idle can negatively affect both your physical and mental health. At least 30 minutes of physical activity every day will keep you physically and mentally strong.

9. Treat yourself to a spa day - Whether you go to a spa or create one at home, treat yourself. Take a bath, do a pedicure, and throw on a face mask!

10. Invest your energy in positive relationships - Having positive and healthy relationships increases your sense of belonging. Surround yourself with people that make you truly happy.
