Frequently Asked Questions

  • You can contact us on the phone during business hours or by filling out the “Get Started” form. We will then evaluate the information and be in touch with you. For questions and or comments use the contact form under the Contact menu choice.

  • Testing and or Assessments are different then regular psychotherapy sessions. Test(s) are administered for diagnosis, treatment plans, and to measure progress. The steps shown here are for individual Adult or an individual Child.

    FOR AN ADULT:

    Step 1: Interview (online) via video session.

    Step 2: Test administration: Subsequent to the Covid-19 pandemic, most tests may be completed online. If in-person testing is required, tests are administered in 90-minute increments. Additional appointments may be necessary depending on the tests to be administered.

    Step 3: Feedback via phone session with Therapist to get your test results.

    FOR A CHILD:

    Step 1: Interview Parent(s) / Caregiver(s) via video session. May be 1 or 2 appointment(s).

    Step 2: Test administration Parent(s) / Caregiver(s) (to be sent via email and completed online).

    Step 3: Test administration Child (most tests may be conducted via video session. If in-person testing is required: tests are administered in 90-minute increments. Additional appointments may be necessary depending on the tests to be administered).

    Step 4 : Interview Child via video (if under 12 years of age, must be in-person (1 hour session).

    Step 5 : Feedback via phone session with parent(s) only to get your child’s test results.

  • We verify insurance benefits and find ways to accommodate the client. We will check benefits and offer you service based on your coverage and ability to pay (see our mission) Takes on average 2-5 business days.

  • We can assign a Therapist within 36hrs. Or, client can initially pay with this method and get a statement (known as a superbill) that can possibly be used for reimbursement by your Insurance provider. It is always best to speak with your insurance provider concerning reimbursements and coverages.

  • All new clients have one intake session prior to the first therapy session and or to the administering of any assessments (approximately 25-50 min). This intake session, is to check documents, make sure we fully understand client’s issues, and to introduce the therapy process.

  • On rare occasions the Therapist assigned would be out of network with your insurance provider. Or, we simply do not have an in network provider available.

    We always offer the Client the best use case scenario and the client is never obligated to proceed.

    In network usually means you are fully covered for treatment. There can be co-pays and deductibles on your insurance plan. Check with your insurance provider.

  • First visit is with the parent/guardian - Video.

    2nd session. Can be video or in person (Children under 12 years of age - must be in-person.)

    3rd session with parents/guardian to give feed back. Can be video, phone call, or in-person.

  • Couples and family therapy is different from individual therapy because the focus of the work will be on the relationship(s). Both members of the couple, or all members of the family, will be present in the first session so the therapist can get to know all of you at the same time. The therapist will help identify the goals for the relationship(s), and will work towards meeting those goals, together.

  • Online Session, Telehealth Session, and Video Session are all the same terms. We made it easy to use. A web link will be sent to you in email. Click the link and a browser based video session will be started. You can use most smart phones and or personal computers with a webcam. It is similar to face time. Allowing you to see and converse with your provider from the comfort of your home or whatever space you feel comfortable in.

  • Committing to therapy is an important decision! In the first couple of sessions, we will determine if our relationship is a good therapeutic fit and complete an intake assessment. Once we have explored your background, we will collaboratively outline your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan. The number of sessions will be based on your specific needs, but this is something we would discuss and visit frequently throughout the duration of the counselling process. Sessions are 50-60 minutes long. Can be video, phone call, and in some cases in-person.

  • Clinical associate therapists are staff with a Master’s degree and are Doctoral Interns in Counselling Psychology. These students have completed all of their relevant course work and training, and engage in frequent supervision with experienced fully licensed therapists on our team.
